| In this study, we aimed to clarify influence of medication adherence in people with Autistic Spectrumdisorder (ASD) from the viewpoint of human service professionals. Questionnaires consisting of bothclosed- and open-ended questions were sent to 609 human service professionals at the health care facilities,and responses were received from 227 facilities (response rate, 37.3%). Analysis of the results revealed thefollowing. First, some people with ASD cannot understand medication adherence because they do not understandtheir own ASD traits and symptoms. Second, human service professionals are unable to predictfor the efficacy of medicine, because some people with ASD have sensibility or insensitive of medicine.Third, some people with ASD have difficulty managing their medication adherence because of sticking todetails of medical. Finally, factors such as family problems and the stigma attached to certain drugs werefound to disturb medication adherence. | ||||||
