内容記述 | This study aims to investigate and analyze the progams of school "Undokai" (a unique style of athletic and play meeting) and to clarify the the developmenntal process of the Singing-Dancing (Shoka-Yuhgi) and Dance (which was called "dansu" in Japanese) in the Meiji era. The programs were collected from the journals of education published in that period, the school histories which includes the descriptions on "Undokai", the prefectural history of education, and the jounal of physical education. The results of this study are summarized as follows : (1) In the elementary school education, 1) Within the investigation of these programs the "Undokai" of 1890 seems to be the first case which adopted a Singing-Dancing. 2) The 1894 case of "Undokai" which contained polonaise in the program was the one introduced Dance first. 3) 50 percent of the titles of Singing-Dancing and Dance which were taken up in the programs of "Undokai" were adopted from the text-books of selected songs of schoolchildren and the teaching manuals of Play and Games (Yuhgi) and those Singing-Dancing and Dance seems to have functiond as the places for the display of gymnastics classes as well as the opportunities for the improvement of children's abilities of expressing themselves. (2) In the secondary and higher education, 1) Dance exercises which were chiefly constructed from the western-style dance were performed in the national and local governmental schools. 2) The widely selected kinds of dance including the western-style dance were taken up in the private schools. In the time having few opportunities for performing dance "Undokai" also had a function of the dance contest in a sense. | |||||
