The data was collected by the research on its actual conditions : a 37 item questionnaires were distributed to 3, 950 respondents on Jan., 15, 1982, and 822 samples were taken for this purpose. The main findings of this study were as follows. (1) They participated in the Ohme Marathon Race for the purpose of maintaining their own health without making any excessive effort. (2) They showed the image of typical contemporary men, i. e., they were satisfied with present situation in spite of having unrest feeling for future, and in such a situation they showed interest in hobby, sport, and health. (3) "Running" has merits not only for physical health, but also for mental and social lives.
