| 内容記述 | If we inquire into the meaning of negation, we never fail to realize various delicate differences between a linguistic negative and a logical negative. And these differences, revealed in forms and meanings, are quite peculiar to each individual language. So Japanese students, in learning English negation, can by no means be free from the influences of their mother tongue. This paper aims at guessing the possible conflicts created by the similarities and differences between the two languages with particular regard to their negative forms and meanings. The items to be concidered will be as follows : -1. Logical meaning of Negation 2. Forms of Sentence Negation 3. Negative Affixes 4. Negative Attraction 5. Negation and Aspect Features 6.
